Programme Overview
Background, objectives and system design
Background
The Nigerian Farmers Management Information System (NiFMIS) is a strategic OVP-led initiative to create a unified, verified national database of Nigerian farmers. The absence of reliable farmer data has historically undermined agricultural policy, subsidy delivery, and credit access. NiFMIS addresses this by building a digital identity and profiling system for every farmer across all 774 LGAs — enabling evidence-based interventions, eliminating leakages in input subsidies, and connecting farmers to financial services.
